🌍 We were very proud to support STATEC in hosting the 23rd Annual Conference and 30th Anniversary of the International Society for Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS) here in Luxembourg from 22–25 July 2025!
The LuxembourgConventionBureau team had the pleasure of supporting the organization of this special edition, which brought together leading researchers and practitioners from around the world to explore the theme: Redefining Progress: Achieving Sustainable Well-Being for All.” ✨
This successful bid, submitted jointly by STATEC and the Luxembourg Convention Bureau, is a great example of national collaboration to attract impactful events.
From inspiring keynotes by renowned experts such as Jeffrey Sachs, Sonja Lyubomirsky, Richard Layard, and Robert Costanza, to engaging workshops and lively discussions, it was a privilege to be part of such a meaningful exchange on quality-of-life research and sustainable development.
👏 A big thank you to STATEC, STATEC Research, the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) for making this event possible. And a heartfelt thank you to the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) for hosting it in such a professional and welcoming setting!

Next Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the 23rd edition of the International Society for Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS) annual conference will be starting at the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) in Kirchberg, Luxembourg.

Presenting to you our 3rd leading scholar and keynote speaker of STATEC Research’s event, in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg, Apodi - Association pour le développement intégratif A.s.b.l. and ISQOLS: Prof. Richard Layard.

Lord Richard Layard is the founder of the Centre for Economic Performance of the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and currently co-directs its Community Wellbeing programme.

A leading voice in wellbeing economics, he has authored six books and around 40 articles, including the influential Happiness: Lessons from a New Science” and the field-defining Wellbeing: Science and Policy”. 🧬

Professor Layard also co-edits the annual World Happiness Report and has led major research on the drivers of human wellbeing since 2005.
